Wafer Type Central Line Butterfly Valve
A disc gate or a rotary disc gate, or an inter–flange disc gate, are general-purpose valves used in various industries as a shut-off device in heating, water supply systems and on various main pipelines transporting media with frequently used pressure and temperature values. The main shut-off (locking) element is a disk rotating on its own axis, located perpendicular (in the closed position) to the direction of water movement. Quite often, these valves are called gate valves, valves, etc. Today, rotary butterfly valves are the most common component of pipelines worldwide. Their high tightness, reliability, and affordable installation and maintenance costs make them an ideal solution for most pipeline systems.
In most cases, this type of shut-off valve is used on pipelines with large diameters from DN40 and with low operating pressure. The main function of the gate is locking.
The main working element of the gate is a disc, most often made of stainless steel or cast iron. By blocking the flow by rotating the shutter along the axis of rotation, the shutters are divided into axial (if the axis of rotation coincides) and eccentric (the axis of rotation does not coincide with the axis of the shutter).
Closures are widely used due to their qualities that meet the requirements of modernity, namely:
◆Simplicity of the product, the absence of a large number of parts, and as a result, ease of maintenance;
◆The possibility of application on pipelines of large diameters.
◆Light weight and compact size;
◆Small construction length;
◆Hermetically sealing off the flow of the working medium in both directions;
◆Only the seat seal and disc are in contact with the working medium;
◆Reasonable price;
◆Wide range of applications.
But like everything else, rotary valves have their drawbacks.:
◆Due to the location of the axis of rotation of the gate in the passage of the working medium, cleaning pipelines by mechanical means is very difficult; hydraulic indicators also decrease.
◆On large diameters, the closing torque of the shutter is very high, and therefore gearboxes are installed.
◆The highest tightness class is possible only on devices with a rubber seat seal, in the absence of it (metal-metal) class only B or even lower.
All rotary butterfly valves of our company can be equipped with a gearbox, electric drive or pneumatic drive at the customer's request.

The use of rotary butterfly valves
For the use of valves in various environments (aggressive and non-aggressive), disc locking elements made of stainless steels have been proposed.
From one of its names (flanged gate) it follows that by the type of connection, the gates are coupling. They are installed between flanges of the appropriate diameter and pressure, tightened with bolts.
